A closer look at my time at partizan
PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT
Most of my time at Partizan was spent in the Production Department. Here I got the chance to work as a Production Assistant on their commercial shoots, most notably the Kohls Holiday commercials.
This commercial was shot on a stage in Hollywood over the course of five days. I got the chance to assist in numerous areas, working alongside talent such as Ellie Kemper, and notable directors Olivier and Michel Gondry.
My time in this department also gave me the chance to learn more about the tasks of being an Office Production Assistant, as well as giving me the chance to connect with all of Partizan’s Executive Producers.
Post Production
I have been able to put my editing skills to use and create GIFs for our newly signed directory, Taylor James.
These GIF’s are featured on the Partizan website, as well as linked at the bottom of email signatures.
On top of creative projects I have been tasked with filing and digitising files and tapes.
Commercials department
This department is where my interests mainly lie, so I made sure to work my way in. This department gave me the opportunity to not only scrub through and revise real directors treatments, but to create my own.
I have learned valuable skills in revising treatments before the bidding process, as well as creating my own in preparation for my own mock bid.
On top of this, I have been given the chance to sit down with the commercials executives here to talk through everything that goes into the final product, from pre-pre-production all the way to airing.
Our semester project shown on the left is a treatment I put together for a supposed Casamigos x 2026 World Cup commercial. I created the treatment on InDesign and pitch the final project to the Partizan Executives panel this coming winter.
Development
Though I have little interest in the development process, I was given the opportunity to write coverage for multiple scripts passing through the department.
I read a short story script that ended up being moved forward for a potential music video. I was asked to gather information about potential artists, and put together a pitch slide, featured on the right, for the CEO to comb through.
I also got the chance to complete my first ever feature film coverage, again sitting down with the CEO to discuss our thoughts and opinions on the piece.
